Q: DO I NEED A VERIFIED HANDICAP TO REGISTER?
A: For 2021, all players must have an active Handicap Index through one of the 59 Allied Golf Associations in the U.S. to be eligible for advancement and prizes. This includes associations using the GHIN services as well as the Chicago District, Maryland State, Montana State, Indiana and Wisconsin State Golf Associations as well as third party organizations that offer a World Handicap System (WSH) number. Any other handicap calculation will not be accepted as the USGA is the sole entity to calculate a Handicap Index. In order to obtain a Handicap Index, you will need to join an authorized golf club.
For our Canadian friends who cannot get a verified HC Index via the USGA, you are still eligible to play and win prizes if you have a verified Handicap index through a Canadian Golf Association.
Q: HOW DO YOU VALIDATE MY HANDICAP?
A: We lock in handicaps at a set time before each event. Your handicap, like everyone else's, will be played off of what it was on the date we locked in the handicaps. We do not disclose this date to avoid potential sandbaggers from padding their numbers.
Q: DO I HAVE TO BE AN AMATEUR TO REGISTER?
A: No. Anyone with a verified and updated handicap is eligible to play and compete. No one will be allowed to "just play as scratch." You must have a verified and updated handicap to be eligible.
Q: HOW WILL MY AMATEUR STATUS BE AFFECTED?
A: You may opt out of the prizes that will negate your amateur status. At registration, there is an option to waive prizes for the purpose of retaining amateur status.
Q: WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION FEE COVER?
A: A team's registration fee covers at least 18 holes of golf, food and booze throughout the day, a tee gift, seeing The Commissioner in the flesh, prizes and more. If said team advances, they'll earn at least 18 more holes at the Championship. Players will be responsible for their own travel & lodging.
Q: IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?
A: Yes, all participants must be 21+. You will be asked to show valid ID upon on-site registration.
Q: ARE SPECTATORS ALLOWED?
A: No, the venues hosting us are not equipped to handle spectators. Neither are we.
Q: WHICH TEES WILL BE PLAYED?
A: The Commissioner will determine course setup based on course conditions, weather, and his mood that day, but a general target is to play each course from around 6,600 yards for Men, 5,800 for women.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CASE OF A TIE?
A: This year, any ties will be determined by a scorecard playoff which will begin on hole 18 and go backwards (17, 16, 15, etc.) until winners are determined.
Q: WHAT IS THE DAILY ITINERARY FOR THE EVENTS?
A: Nearly all our qualifiers will start with 8am tee times. Breakfast will be served. You can hit the driving range, and mingle with the barstool talent before your assigned tee time.
Q: WHERE CAN I VIEW THE OFFICIAL RULES?
